Mean Girls meets The Craft in this read! That’s really the only way to describe The Merciless; there’s no way to expect the unexpected. I’ll be honest, it was a slow read at first and it was a bit of a struggle to stay interested in it (however, that could also be because I was in a bit of a reading stump). But boy oh BOY!  I am not a fan of scary, creepy, thrilling, or suspenseful books. I very much prefer books in the Fictional/Paranormal/Young Adult/Romance genre. I am a hopeless romantic who loves fantasy and mythical creatures so those genres call to me, like a siren calling a sailor. However, while browsing in the book section of Walmart one day, the cover to The Bargaining drew me in (though I ended up purchasing it at a Barnes & Noble). The simplicity and detail of the girl in the woods is eye-catching, as well as the fine printed “The North Woods are calling…”
