The Merciless by Danielle Vega

“She killed Grace, and now she’s after you.” – Sofia

Mean Girls meets The Craft in this read! That’s really the only way to describe The Merciless; there’s no way to expect the unexpected. I’ll be honest, it was a slow read at first and it was a bit of a struggle to stay interested in it (however, that could also be because I was in a bit of a reading stump). But boy oh BOY! Once you hit that certain chapter, you are in for one hell of a ride (no pun intended). (more…)

Evermore by Alyson Noël

“…the only thing I can clearly remember is dying.” – Ever

Coping with death is hard, and how do you cope with the death of your entire family? Is there a right or wrong way? And how do you deal with the weird psychic powers you get waking up after?

Because red tulips are reserved just for her… (more…)

Firewalker by Josephine Angelini

“They did catch me, and then they put me in the barn.” – Lillian

The struggle between magic and science doesn’t end. There’s a new lesson to be learned, one that is constantly reiterated with every story; everything has consequences. There is a reason why you aren’t suppose to steal things from other worlds, learning and stealing are two very different things. (more…)

Fallen by Lauren Kate

“Then there was nothing, nothing at all.” – Fallen

Let me start by saying that Fallen was a sinfully delicious read. The way light and darkness are twisted together is alluring, captivating the mind to take a deeper look into this twisted love story. Covers always draw me in first and this cover was not a disappointing; sexy and creepy, with a one word title was perfection for this book.

Splintered by A. G. Howard

“It’s pointless. Cards don’t have ears. And I no longer have a head.”

– Alyssa Gardner, Splintered

We all know of Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and we’ve seen Disney’s classic animation as well as the movie with Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter; but what if Wonderland wasn’t as wonderful as Carroll and Disney portrayed it to be?
